What Is Microsuction?

Microsuction- How it Works and How Can It Help?

Microsuction is the safest, most effective way of removing excess ear wax, from the ear canal. It uses a gentle suction (think mini hoover!) to remove earwax from your ear canal and is generally a painless procedure. A small device called an otoscope is used to look in you ear and assess the wax. Through this device a small probe is inserted into the ear and directed at the wax. A light suction then removes the wax from your ear.

Before carrying out the procedure, we will ask you to apply olive oil ear drops 3-5 days before your appointment. This helps soften the wax to optimise maximum wax removal. Don't worry if you forget, we can apply some one the day for you, but please be aware we may not be able to remove all the wax in one appointment for you.

A buildup of earwax can cause numerous symptoms including: pain, irritation, dizziness, hearing loss, tinnitus and itchy ears. Microsuction can help alleviate these problems.

We are based in Fishbourne, Chichester, so if you need ear microsuction, book today for clearer hearing.
